Korea International Pilates Academy
ABOUT US
Korea International Pilates Academy (KIPA) Pilates gained traction in Korea in the 1990s and early 2000s, introduced by fitness enthusiasts who trained abroad. It quickly became an integral part of Korea’s burgeoning wellness culture, celebrated for its holistic approach to physical strength and mental well-being. With its emphasis on achieving a balanced and toned physique, Pilates resonated deeply with Korea’s beauty and health ideals, spurring the development of diverse teaching methods and practices.
In 2018, Ms. Hana Baeg, also known as Ms. Hana Lim, founded the Korea International Pilates Academy (KIPA) with a mission to elevate Pilates both locally and internationally. Recognizing the need for a cohesive platform to unify and enhance the practice, she envisioned KIPA as a nurturing hub where instructors could excel and innovate.
At KIPA, the teaching philosophy blends innovation with the timeless principles established by Joseph Pilates. The academy emphasizes mastering fundamental movements while fostering resilient, empathetic, and critical-thinking practitioners. With the ever-evolving nature of the Pilates industry, KIPA equips its instructors with the skills and mindset to adapt, lead, and inspire.
The academy takes pride in developing instructors who influence their communities with integrity and purpose. Through a culture of humility, KIPA encourages its members to celebrate achievements with grace and learn from challenges with resilience. The academy also cultivates curiosity, encouraging practitioners to reflect on their methods, seek growth, and explore the broader cultural and global dimensions of Pilates.
By embracing a diverse range of exercise traditions and engaging with experienced practitioners worldwide, KIPA continues to enrich its approach to Pilates, positioning itself as a global leader in the field. This holistic vision underpins its commitment to shaping the future of Pilates both in Korea and internationally.
